Aerogel Selected One of Time Magazine's 2002 Best Inventions

Time Magazine has chosen aerogel for one of its 2002 Best Inventions Awards in the category of robots and technology .
The substance is being used aboard the Stardust spacecraft to collect tiny particles of comet dust and return them to
Earth without damaging them.

Time also recognized NASA's Mars Rovers, scheduled to land on the Red Planet in 2004, with an award.
