Workshop on Cometary Dust Announced
4/22/03
A workshop on Cometary Dust in Astrophysics is planned August 10-15, 2003, in Crystal Mountain, Washington, near Mt. Rainier. Sponsored by the University of Washington, the Lunar and Planetary Institute, and NASA Johnson Space Center, the purpose of
the meeting is the integration of astrophysical observations of comets and interstellar/circumstellar dust with laboratory analyses of interplanetary dust particles, stardust, and meteorites, and to discuss what might be learned from comet samples to be
returned by Stardust in 2006. Stardust Principal Investigator Don Brownlee is one of the meeting organizers.
